First & Only Dedicated Kansas-Made Wine Bar
We believe great wine has the power to bring people together, and that Kansas is a secret hotspot for great wine!
Flint & Vine was created to introduce guests to the incredible wineries, winemakers, and stories that make Kansas wine so special. Our goal has never been simply to serve wine. It’s to create a place where friends gather, conversations linger, celebrations are shared, and everyone feels welcome.
Whether you’re a lifelong wine enthusiast or trying Kansas wine for the very first time, we invite you to slow down, stay awhile, and discover something new.

Who We Are
Nearly three years before Flint & Vine opened its doors, co-owner Makena Krause moved from California to Junction City to join her husband, Caden Krause, during his military service at Fort Riley. Although they never expected Kansas to become home, they quickly fell in love with the state’s small-town charm, local wineries, and welcoming communities. As they explored Kansas, one thing became clear: they wished Junction City had a wine bar of its own: a place to gather, discover great wine and food, and enjoy the kind of experience they had come to love across the state.
In the summer of 2025, Makena and Caden convinced Makena’s parents, Louis and Ileana, her sister, Malia, and her grandparents, Marco and Maria, to make Junction City home as well. When the opportunity arose in January 2026, the family took a leap of faith to create Flint & Vine, opening its doors on April 28, 2026. Today, the business is proudly family-owned, with Makena and her father, Louis, as co-owners and Ileana serving as the powerhouse behind the scenes. Alongside an incredible team that has become family, they have built Flint & Vine into a welcoming place for the community to gather.
As Flint & Vine continues to grow, so does its vision. The team looks forward to introducing even more guests to Kansas-made wines, expanding its lineup of craft cocktails and mocktails, hosting memorable events, growing its private event offerings, and in the future, launching a Kansas wine club that helps bring the best of Kansas wineries to homes across the region.
